After it downloads

  • Mac — open the .dmg and drag the app into Applications. Palette is signed and notarized. If macOS still says the app can't be verified, right-click it and choose Open.
  • Windows — run the -Setup.exe installer. It is not yet code-signed, so SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC": click More info, then Run anyway.
  • Linux — Palette is a .deb: open it with your software installer, or run sudo apt install ~/Downloads/MissionCanvas.deb. The other apps are .AppImage files, which download without permission to run, so double-clicking does nothing. In a terminal, chmod +x the file, then run it. On Ubuntu 22.04 or newer, first sudo apt install libfuse2. On Ubuntu 24.04 an AppImage may quit at once with a "SUID sandbox" error; start it with --no-sandbox.

Install the command line

A terminal build for asking questions against a repository or a folder. It ships on its own release train and is not the same build as the apps above.
